About Dr. Ashley

Robert Ashley, MD, is a board certified psychiatrist in private practice in the Westwood Village neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA.  Dr. Ashley offers comprehensive outpatient psychiatric services for young, middle-aged and older adults.

 

Trained in psychotherapy and psychopharmacology, Dr. Ashley uses both approaches as they are needed in helping adults who are experiencing emotional or mental difficulties, including:

 

Anxiety

Bipolar Disorder

Depression

Family Difficulties

Personality Disorders

Relationship Difficulties

 

Dr. Ashley offers psychotherapy services, as well as medication management and consultation.

 

Dr. Robert Ashley was educated at Harvard University, where he received his B.A. in philosophy, and at the University of California, San Diego, where he received his M.D. He completed his residency training in adult psychiatry at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute (now known as the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior), where he was also Chief Resident.

 

In addition to his private practice, Dr. Ashley teaches psychiatry as an Associate Clinical Professor at the UCLA Geffen School of Medicine, and as an Attending Psychiatrist at UCLA’s Mood Disorders Clinic.

 

Dr. Ashley is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (FAPA). He is a past president of the Psychiatric Clinical Faculty Association at UCLA.
